The Anthropology of War and Peace Lecture by Fyodor Girenok

December 21, 6:30 pm, lecture "Anthropology of War and Peace" by Fedor Girenok, PhD, professor, head of Philosophical Anthropology Department at Lomonosov Moscow State University. 

Fyodor Girenok is one of the brightest and most original representatives of contemporary Russian philosophy. He is the founder of the Moscow Anthropological School (MASH), which is characterized by an interest in the archaic, the soil, the literal everyday life, and everyday life. Founder and ideologist of ARCHEOAVANGARD.

At the lecture Fyodor Ivanovich will offer reflection on difficult and urgent questions: Why does man not live for the sake of culture? Why does culture put us beyond morality and freedom? What happens when there is not enough consciousness for awareness? Why is society the tamer of man? How does the division into "us" and "them" appear? War as a means of human renewal through horror and war as a way of resolving illogical problems of consciousness. What should we do today?
