Evgenia Bolyukh is an interdisciplinary artist, born in 1983 in Moscow, where she lives and works. She is currently studying at the MMOMA Free Workshops for the "New Art" program. She took the Fundamentals of Fine Art course at the British Higher School of Design, studied analog photography at the Complutense University in Madrid, self-taught in UNITY and learned programming skills at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering in Creative Coding (generative art).

"We are living the period of an anti-utopia in real time and the deconstruction of reality as a method comes to the fore, gives the author an opportunity to make some understanding of this most unfamiliar present. As Don Juan taught in his mythology, to see and understand how a leaf falls from a tree, one should tilt one's head differently and perhaps realize that it moves in other planes and trajectories. The desire to deconstruct and reassemble the symbols of time is aimed at trying to understand them and to find points of support, whether it is belonging, detachment or escape from new images and meanings. For some it is support, for others it is rejection, as a starting point for one's reflection on this very "here and now" and finding one's own personal coordinates.

I work with objects, installations, cyclic animations and participate in performative practices. My work is based on deconstructing images and reflections on dichotomies, conformism and trauma."

Bolyukh Evgenia, an artist

Egor Voskresensky was born in 1997 in St. Petersburg, where he lives and works now.

The author works with the artistic heritage of the past, occasionally borrowing some artistic techniques and, afterwards, transforming them into something closer to himself. The author is also often inspired by the thinking of neural networks, sometimes completely unpredictable.

Each artist's work is multi-layered. It begins with a tonal substrate for which he uses various pigments, solvents and inks. This is always followed by traditional materials such as watercolours, pastels and others.

Egor Voskresensky, an artist, art historian and collector

In her works, the artist reflects on the fragile constructions that exist both within society and on its periphery. The theme of the trace left behind and the contact with it, as well as the area of involuntary memory, interests her as an opportunity for spontaneous, almost random convergence.

In the author's practice, participatory methods are the key and  used to build a dialog with the outside world, which can influence the overall course of the process and allow for elements of chance.

I use them to understand how flexible and receptive this boundary can be. Daria Goncharova, an artist

Born in 1988 in St.Petersburg. 

Multidisciplinary artist exploring the crisis of technology. Studied at Berlin's Weizensee Hochschule für Kunst (KHB), took personal master classes with Fabio Viale (Italy) and Sarah Esser (Germany). In his work, the artist aims to move away from romanticising technology and to put this attitude under critical analysis. The author asks whether it is possible to overcome the idealised image of technology through its deconstruction and to what extent technology can transform and define our lives. The artist reflects on the boundary between the virtual and the real, which is increasingly being blurred. The impossibility of complete control over the flows of generated information is also one of the themes the author deals with.

The artist creates objects using a combination of advanced digital printing technologies and traditional sculpture techniques. The author combines recognisable elements of industrial aesthetics as well as materials that are not typical of high-tech approaches, such as plaster, steel, concrete and nitro-enamel. Through the formal breakdowns and shifts thus manifested, a critique of stereotypes about the refined and perfect image of new technologies is made. Polemising with the ideological myth of their dominance, the author resorts to the deconstruction of industrial artefacts, disrupting their function and diverting them from associations with the direct purpose of the object.

Born in 1995 in Sergiev Posad, lives and works in Moscow.

In her works, the artist most often explores her own state of mind at a particular period of her life. In her practice the author often conveys her feelings through the image of nature. She usually chooses printed graphics as a visual representation.

“As an artist I set myself the task to create a new space and atmosphere in it. All my works are an internal reflection. My art and my work on it help me to experience different periods of life. Sometimes, it is sublimation or those feelings that I can express only this way. But most of the time I create my own new spaces - similar to reality, but not completely. What unites these works (places) is that they are all out of the city, it's always a natural motif. My works are about a kind of escape to nature.

I most often use printed graphics as visual representation. I use etching or linocuts. I am attracted by the unpredictability of the result. The process involves not just myself, but also a coincidence. It is like a tandem and unity between me and the world around me. I like the effect of coincidence in our lives and I find a parallel in it. Both in life and in printmaking, that chance can be fortunate or vice versa."

Born in Moscow in 1984.

The artist works with painting, graphics and textiles in such directions as abstraction, primitivism and appropriation. In her work, the author draws on analytical psychology, Old Russian mythology, fairy tales and primitive art, working with themes of psychological development, mental hygiene and integration of shadow aspects of the psyche.

Born in Krasnoyarsk, lives and works in Moscow. 

In her practice, Tatiana addresses themes of self-determination and control in a rapidly changing world. The artist is interested in communication in an unsupported society and the human response to the constant change in the context of life. In her works, Tatiana captures the continuous struggle of man for self-determination, attempts to maintain balance, addressing the essence of man and his values. Often her research is based on her own experience and experiences.

As a foundation, the artist uses classical materials and techniques (etching, metal work), combining them with the plastic possibilities of new media.

"My art is a silence in which rare sounds are heard - drops falling into a vessel of water.

In my artistic practice, I strive to move away from the secondary, unnecessary, from noise and imposed desires. My method consists in an intuitive search for the essence of things and their relationship to the human world, in meditative contemplation of fragile, impermanent beauty, and in the rejection of utilitarianism. In my perception, the acute experience of the frailty and finitude of material things is not tragic, but rather something to be ironised. Intimacy and melancholy go hand in hand with self-irony and the grotesque. I explore the notion of self-control, of violence against oneself and others, through the aesthetics of mythical hunting.

"In my search for simple expression, I keep artistic techniques to a minimum. In graphics, the transitions from saturated lines and spots to the empty space of the sheet reveal the "backbone" of the form. The background often disappears altogether, making the texture of the paper work as an infinite space. The natural materials used for the objects and archival paper are devoid of lustre, their loose surface softly absorbing the rays of light. The patina of antiquity, the patina, the darkness of condensed time create a special warmth."

Sventlana Kononova, an artist

Born in 1998.

Practising architect-designer. 

The author's artistic journey began in 2021 with the transfer of his ideas and thoughts onto canvas. But the desire to create was long before that moment. The first experience of presenting works for public viewing was at a contemporary art fair at the Winzavod site. Feedback from visitors and fellow artists gave confidence, and the impetus to continue this endeavour. The type of art in which the artist works is painting, in the direction of conceptualism.

"All my experiences and the influences of the surrounding world are woven together in my subconscious to create something unified. This is how my ideas for paintings are born. They are expressed by a worldview, scraps of thoughts containing experiences, irony, conjectures and rethinking of things that have arisen in the head for a moment but never leave it. This image, which appeared in the mind for seconds, acquires clearer features only on the canvas. It is a note, a sketch of a thought that impressed me. But they can be interpreted in different ways: twist, turn and turn, but what was originally there is already imprinted on the canvas as a monument. And even if it is not always rainbow-coloured, life is made up of different periods, and that is its beauty."

Mikhail Kropin, an artist

Born in 1991 in Moscow.

Member of the TCAA since 2021.

Anastasia Kulikova, an artist

Born in 1990 in St. Petersburg.

Russian artist, teacher of drawing and silkscreening printing at the Ilya Repin Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Creates his works in printing techniques such as lithography and silkscreen.  Along with large format works and contemporary materials.

The artist dedicates his work to the human body in all its manifestations and forms. And if there is a body, there is also a soul, thought, consciousness and subconsciousness, about which one can endlessly talk and think. His works embody the complexity of the human soul, its metamorphosis and interaction with the surrounding space, as well as its boundless loneliness. Curved, tense bodies are often contrasted and connected to absolute all-consuming darkness, which vividly contrasts with the whiteness of the background.

Born in autumn 1987, a graduate of the Modern Art and Illustration programmes, a regular contributor to literary magazines, and a lecturer in visual communication at the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Sechenov. She is currently working on her dissertation on transmedia translation.

In her practice she uses hybrids of mediums to create the most three-dimensional statement possible - installation, painting, collage and video art, objet Trouvé, photography, graphics and sculpture. For the artist, it is particularly important to use performative practice, her own corporeality, to act as a kind of conduit between the statement, the realised object and the person who looks at it.

"The main theme of my practice is the Space of Timelessness, the state before emotion. Olga Makhno,  an artist

Rinat Mustafin was born in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, in 1991.

 In Moscow he received a higher education in the specialty of Architect. Since 2011 is engaged in artistic practices in the field of modern art, combining with with projects in the field of curatorship, scenography, architecture and design. In 2020, together with the team of the creative association WIP, he opened an experimental gallery, where he took the position of chief curator.

His works are a part of the collections of the Nakovalnya Gallery Foundation, the private collection of artist Aidan Salakhova.

"When we become adults, living the changes in the world around us, we remember our childhood and our old children's toys take us back to those distant times, when the whole world belonged only to us, and there was a whole life ahead of us, full of joy and happiness. How do our children's toys live now, mute witnesses of our victories and disappointments, care and indifference, loyalty and betrayal, our love and cruelty?

Then the (non-)children's stories are born, which I tell in my paintings.

The use of pointillism in my works allows me to fully convey that magical state when memories of childhood evoke warm feelings in us and fill our lives with joy. This painting method is more than 130 years old, but it is still relevant today, as the technique of drawing an image on canvas can be compared to pixels on computer screens. Pointillism uses optical illusions to create images from many small dots placed close together. When viewed up close, the picture appears blurred, indistinct; from afar, the object is accurately viewed. Thanks to the effect, the image is alive and multidimensional. If you get closer, the picture breaks up into dots. My goal has been achieved - I have conveyed the magic and instability of the state, the unreality and illusory nature of what is happening."

Lesha Nepetrovich, an artist

A professional muralist whose works are executed mainly in the mosaic technique for secular interiors, institutions, church religious buildings in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok.

Graduated from Vladivostok Art School (VKU) and St. Petersburg Stieglitz Academy, studied at the Far East Academy of Arts and Pro Atre Institute (St. Petersburg).

Alongside his studies, he has participated in various youth exhibitions as an artist and as a sound maker for sound design of exhibitions and performances.

For the last few years he has been working on his own Contemporary Art projects.

"What I do, I suppose, belongs to 'Actual Art'. Sometimes it is the result of an intuitive premonition, sometimes it is a direct reflection of past or current events, sometimes it is simply the result of sensual experiences.

In some works I use text. Sometimes as an independent statement, sometimes as a supplement to the image (as an additional semantic load, or as an oxymoron, or in order to change the semantic angle of reflection).

Some self-contained text works, augmented with decorative elements, become essentially Art Objects."

Piperov Victor, an artist

Born in 1980, lives and works in Moscow and St.Petersburg.

Artist and street art theorist, co-founder of the Partizaning movement.

Author of the books "Art and the City" and "Russian Urban Art: History and Conflicts". Winner of the IIC Garage programme to support Russian artists, winner of the Sergei Kuryokhin Prize for Contemporary Art, nominee for the Kandinsky Prize and the Moscow Art Prize. Curator of exhibition and festival projects in Moscow, St Petersburg, Berlin, as well as in Kazan and Bishkek.

In the studio art practice he combines collage and assemblage techniques, in the city space he works in the format of art intervention and performance.

"In my artistic practice I strive for diversity of approaches and methods, my street works make sense of the context in which they are created - critically or poetically. In the studio I create objects and collages, often using materials found on the street such as advertising banners and false facades. I supplement them with construction fittings and metal frames, reminiscent of the structures used for fixing adverts and referring to their natural environment in the city.

The central themes I have been working on in the last few years are the definition of the place of the individual in urbanised space, as well as the poetic reflection on borders and constraints, whether they be the boundaries of states, natural areas, public spaces or personal territories."

Igor Ponosov, an artist

Born in 2001 in Engels, Saratov region. 

Since childhood she took lessons in painting and drawing from teachers in private studios, after moving to Moscow she studied at the art school and at the preparatory courses of MAKhU 1905. - the main emphasis during her studies was on academism. At the age of 17 she started independent creative activity, in addition to individual projects she realised collaborations with artists and photographers, and at the age of 21 she entered the course "New Art" of the Free Workshops of MMOMA: at the moment she is a resident of the Open Studios of Winzavod.

"I like to pay attention to the places where contradictory phenomena converge, I like to follow how they confront and match. Polina Savina, an artist

Born in 1996 in Moscow.

Graphic artist, working mainly in monotype technique - for the last year about 100 works were created in it. The author also combines different techniques, combines tempera, acrylic, oil pastel and watercolour pencils. She likes to work with spots, silhouettes, textures. When working with colour, the artist chooses a limited palette, prefers complex colours to open ones.

"The characteristic feature of my works are deserted spaces, but they are not devoid of human beings.

Through architecture I create an echo of his presence. Often industrial and rural buildings are the protagonists of my paintings, they are traces that can give a psychological portrait of their authors and inhabitants. Many buildings have long been empty and are no longer used by people. They have lost their original purpose, but have acquired a new one. Now the buildings exist on their own, outside the temporal and social context. They have become ideal plastic forms. My goal is to capture and convey to the viewer the passing nature, the beauty of proportions, the plasticity of simple geometric forms. The rich texture of natural materials: wood, metal, earth."

Maria Stadnick, an artist

Graduate of the Moscow Automechanical Institute in the programme "transport design". Trained at the VolksWagen design studio near Berlin.

 Worked as an illustrator-designer in such agencies as Milk, Leo Burkett, Grey, BBDO, VMLY&R Commerce. He taught fashion sketching at the British Design School for 5 years.

He started to make art in 2011.

At the current stage of creative development, the artist creates symbolism-filled works that combine abstract and figurative painting, as well as experiments with composition and texture. The author's paintings are characterized by an abundance of details, which create a certain visual noise that engages the viewer in a prolonged visual dialogue with the work.

"I am pushing my creative boundaries that started in industrial and graphic design. The themes and subjects of my work are rather secondary, they are like a colourful wrapper with a reflection of modernity for my abstract experiments. I seek to shape colour and tone not by mixing colours, but through abstract patterns composed of brushstrokes and visual noise consisting of pencil strokes, paint splatters and scratches. I explore how changes in composition and framing alter the perception of the work. I also analyse how my background in industrial and graphic design influences my work. I look for illogical solutions in the creation of my works, trying to destroy this very background, as I believe that I am constrained by its rules and frames. Each new work is an experiment that gives the key to the next, on the way to finding my own identity and realising my vision of figurative expressionism.

In my works I want to partially reflect my subjective view of the times in which we live, through the image (NOHEROES), which represents in my understanding the modern man, which is filled with symbolism and aggression, inherent in my opinion of the whole generation.

NOHEROES is a comedic compilation of my frustrations."

Anastasia Charugina was born in 1984 in Moscow.

Graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art School in memory of 1905 (theatre and decoration department) in 2004.

Graduated from Moscow State University of Printing (Faculty of Graphic Arts) in 2010.

Member of the Moscow Union of Artists (book graphics section).

The main task for the author is to increase the visibility of women, to draw attention to the problems of adults and children who have experienced or are experiencing violence.

The important theme for the author is memories that have disappeared due to traumatic experiences. Violent subjects become the basis for the creation of the works. It is a reality that we face every day but rarely notice.

"The figures in my works are deconstructed, some parts of them becoming a gentle, innocent gradient. In places a pile of muscle flying fast in the air. A strong frame ready to fight for their body right now. Often the women's extremities are torn off and their faces are blurred, a sense of oppression and helplessness that comes from the suppression of will. The background is made up of parts, similar to a stained glass window. It can act as the ground beneath your feet, which is about to collapse and suck you in, or the inner chaos that destroys the figure and its perception from within.

My artistic practice is not focused on the application of one painting technique. The colours and mediums I use are dynamic. For me, the flexibility of the medium is another way of reflecting on events and conveying their content."

Arina Frank, an artist

The artist was born in 1982 in Kaliningrad. In order to better convey his idea, the author used to draw from photographs for a long time. However, now he takes the subject "from his head", combining what he has seen with his memories.

This makes the drawing more free and brings it closer to the way children draw. 

His subjects are a diary of everyday life, romanticisation of everyday life, notes on impressions, observation and outlining of life.
